Executive Director Zach Hanner has 20 years of experience in the
entertainment industry, working as a professional actor, director, producer,
writer and musician. Having had so many wonderful instructors and inspirations
along his creative path, Zach hopes to provide the next generation of
Wilmington actors with the opportunity to explore their own characters and
concepts through the art of performance.
Cost is $10 per class with discounts for advanced payments.
Students will learn the physical
disciplines of acting including vocal projection, movement, improvisation and
simple stage combat. They will also develop skills in creating and writing
scenes that they will, in turn, perform. In addition to some basic theater
history, participants will learn technical aspects of theater, stagecraft
concepts and handy skills like how to tell a good joke.
Each semester concludes with a
showcase where the students get an opportunity to show off what they’ve learned
over the course of the semester.
These classes are a great
opportunity for students with raw talent that simply needs some direction as
well as for the student looking to take their performing skills to the next
level. Participants will develop their public speaking skills, improve their
self-confidence and learn how to take their ideas from the brainstorming
session to the stage.
